Community to rally on 17th August
9th August 2023
A community rally is being held on Thursday 17th August, with all those who live and love Edgware invited to take part. The demonstration is being organised by Save Our Edgware who have shared this post:
We will be holding a demonstration on Thursday August 17th at 2pm against the proposed development. This demonstration is a big opportunity to form a big physical gathering and say to Ballymore and Barnet Councillors: Edgware does not need 29-storey skyscrapers; it does not need 25 tower blocks. It will also alert residents and businesses who may not know anything about the plans. It really needs a very big turnout – come rain or shine! So, bring your family, friends and neighbours along.
The route:
1.50pm Gather in front of the Railway Hotel
2.00pm Start of the rally
We will walk along Station Road, The Drive, The Rise, Hale Lane and end at the Broadwalk. It’s estimated it will take 1.5 to 2 hours.
The organisers will have banners. The police have been consulted and will provide a substantial number of police officers to escort the rally through Edgware. There are currently about a dozen stewards but more may be required.
So, it really needs a very big turnout – come rain or shine! Bring your family, friends and neighbours along.
Children are more than welcome, but to ensure their safety they must be supervised by an adult.
There will be a second rally on Sunday 3rd September.
In the meantime, here's how else you can help Save Edgware!
